A day at Poppykins Daycare is structured but flexible.   I provide a stimulating environment with two dedicated playrooms.  Children have daily access to art and craft, water and sand play, sensory baskets, educational toys, role play, singing, reading, small world play, puppets, cooking, daily outings, animals and an outdoor area.

Activities may include: Role play, dressing up, arts and crafts, dough play, block play, building sets, play shapes, nesting beakers, construction sets, jigsaws and puzzles, play mat and toy vehicles, Thomas the Tank Engine train sets, junk play, sand play, water play, movement and dance, music play, dramatic play, domestic play, cooking, reading books and storytelling.

Each day includes an outing:  Bright Beginnings Pre School Group at Rhydyfelin Children's Centre, Ti A Fi Pre School Group at Rhydyfelin Children's Centre or Efail Isaf Village Hall or Church Village Parish Hall, Surestart Talkabout Team Pre School Group, Mother and Toddler Group at Llanilltud Faerdref Primary, Funtastic, Tumble Tots, Kindermusik, Tiny Tumblers and Mimi's Melodies.

The main language of communication will be English and Welsh will be introduced through songs and rhymes and to identify numbers, colours and everyday objects.  A number of French, Italian and Spanish bilingual books, children's DVD's and the Muzzy Children's Italian language course are also available.  I am also able to introduce sign language following the TinyTalk programme for those children under two years of age in discussion with parents.

Children have access to the outdoor environment through one of the playroom doors.  The garden is totally enclosed and consists of a paved and grassed area.  A variety of outdoor toys are available and children have access to the wooden playhouse which is equipped with a wooden kitchen, table and appropriate toys to assist in role play.
